October 2006, - Advances in new urethane materials have provided better heat and impact on cast urethane parts. Working with our suppliers to come up with better solutions in order to simulate production materials we have more and better options than ever.
November 04 - Prototype closed molded parts are getting larger and more complex all the time. So far in the last year we have made parts in the 40 to 60lb range off of composite matched mold tools as large as 140" X 60" X 50". Cab Interior components such as floor mats in various durometers and colors are being done off closed mold foam tools. Cab roofs with internal air ducting and integrated HVAC systems using prototype cold pressure molding technology are accurate enough to prove out functionality prior to committing to high dollar production tools. Large exterior styled parts where design requirements and functional issues require both sides to be accurate are being done using Ren/Composite Tooling. Large open molded parts are still the norm, but when value added cost savings can be justified the closed molded parts can prove out design intent for both A side aesthetics and B side engineered detail. In functional high risk parts, the large part prototype closed mold option has been a valuable insurance policy. Weather pumped, poured, injected, pressed or laminated we can come up with a solution for your large part needs.
2004 - Fibeco has been working with OEM's to qualify urethane materials to give a real world evaluation of physicals for prototype parts. Too many times these materials have let down during product testing. We are looking at processing and post curing to make sure the materials will meet real world heat related demands. We can now provide a much better prototype product and meet heat distortion temperatures up to the 200F range.
2003 - Fibeco has added another high speed cnc machine 96"X48"X36"Z in order to keep up with large part demands.
2003 - Fibeco added a PVI 48" X48" Thermo Former to help cover requests for more vac-formed parts
2003 - Fibeco has worked with Dutchland Plastics to develope quick turn-around composite blow mold tooling. Parts included radiator overflow bottles, water tanks and under hood air ducts
